Billie Hobbs

Billie was born and raised in the mountains of southwest Virginia where she attributes the foundation for her spelling and grammar to teachers and mentors of schools in that small railroad and mining town. Higher education was just icing on the cake. Billie moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1963, where she worked for 35+ years in both the insurance industry and as executive assistant to senior executives of major corporations. She spent the last four years of her professional employment assisting in the startup of a new business, growing it from four employees to more than two hundred.

After retiring, Billie joined The Word Doctor where she worked as a medical transcriptionist for more than eight years. She joined thewordverve in 2012 as a proofreader, which she says has been her lifelong calling.

Billie has always been an avid reader of romance, fiction, mystery and crime, war and military fiction, and westerns. She loves being a part of the process of bringing to life the characters and stories of the books she edits and laughingly remarks that because of her seasoned citizen status, she can easily identify with many of the characters.

A devoted grandmother, Billie and her husband Charles live in Roswell, Georgia.
